DO’S AND DON’TS OF RECYCLING

We all do it but do we do it right?

Mixed paper / fiber products
Include: Don’t include:
  • Newspapers and all inserts
  • Computer and color paper (no carbon paper)
  • Junk mail and envelopes
  • Telephone books
  • Cardboard
  • Corrugated (flattened; pieces may not exceed 2’x2’)
  • Chipboard / paperboard (flatten and remove windows, liners and handles)
  • Hard or soft covered regular reading books
  • Pizza boxes
Co-mingled rigid products – plastic, cans & glass (All items must be rinsed for recycling)
  • Glass bottles and jars: (clear, brown and green colors)
  • Cans (tin and bi-metal
  • Aluminum (cans, foil and trays)
  • Plastic (#1 through #7, beverage rings)
  • Plastic caps or bags
  • Styrofoam
  • Light bulbs
  • Plate or ceramic glass; Pyrex

Motor Oil & Car Batteries

Used motor oil must be contained in a clear plastic jug (milk jug) and must not contain any other type of liquids.

  • Place at curbside next to the recycle cart (not inside it)
  • Place car batteries next to your cart at curbside
